Narihalla reservoir, on the way to sandur town, 25 kms from bellary, a little known little explored place, provides a lot of opportunities for photography and explorations. The redness of the soil and the lake water shows the presence of iron ore beneth. It is believed that this beautiful landscape is the result of some volcanic eruption.

The Bellary Fort is built on top of the Ballari Gudda or the Fort Hill. The Fort was built round the hill during Vijayanagara times by Hanumappa Nayaka.
